Start with the complete system
A pump alarm, an interrupted cut, and a dimensional error call for different investigations. The cutting table, pump, cutting head, controls, abrasive delivery, and site utilities work together. A symptom at one point in that system does not establish which component needs replacement.
Highline can assess the reported problem, review available fault history, and define a corrective-service scope. That may involve a focused repair or a broader evaluation when several symptoms overlap. Recommendations depend on the condition and documentation of the equipment actually installed.
Know who is doing the work
Chris worked as a Flow field service engineer from 2019 through 2023. That is his individual professional background. Highline Waterjet Services is a separate, independent company established on August 26, 2026.
Highline is not represented as Flow-authorized, a Flow dealer, or part of Flow’s factory service network. If your machine has an active manufacturer warranty or service agreement, review those requirements before arranging third-party work.
Make the first conversation useful
Tell us whether the machine is stopped, operating intermittently, or producing unacceptable parts. Describe the first symptom and what happened immediately before it. Recent maintenance, a move, a collision, a utility interruption, or a software change can help define the investigation.
- Machine model and serial number, plus pump and cutting-head identification
- Exact alarm wording or screenshots already available from the normal operator interface
- When the issue began and whether it occurs at startup, piercing, cutting, or shutdown
- Recent service records, parts changes, and the production work affected
Plan an on-site visit
Before scheduling, confirm access, site safety requirements, an authorized machine contact, available documentation, and any parts already on hand. Agree on the work to be assessed and how a return-to-service check will be evaluated. Parts identification and availability can affect the sequence and duration of repairs.
Do not run an unsafe machine to demonstrate a fault. Follow your site’s lockout/tagout procedures and the applicable OEM instructions. Inspection, electrical work, and ultrahigh-pressure service must be performed only by appropriately authorized personnel.
